This photograph was taken at China Camp along the San Francisco Bay. There was an elderly Chinese man who lived on the property and appeared to be tending it. I believe this was his rowboat. I saw him in his garden weeding, on his knees, wearing a cone shaped straw hat. Though I tried to photograph him, with his permission, I couldn't quite get a good angle due to the landscape and the fence surrounding his garden. His face was lined with age and sun, and he seemed to be a simple and humble man.
